Fueled by the boom of e-commerce, Europe’s distance sellers are performing impressively. Turnover has followed a consistent upward curve for 8 consecutive years.
According to Eurostat 2009 data, the percentage of EU citizens who have ordered goods or services over the internet reached 37% in 2009. Cross border e-tailing within the EU27 is also up, with 22% of individuals having bought from another EU country in 2009 and 12% of EU e-shoppers having bought from outside the EU27.
