Data economy

The age of digitalization and the ascent of the data-driven economy has fueled new types of disruptive innovation, providing new opportunities and enabling new business models. New technologies, like Artificial Intelligence, and data are used by the e-commerce sector to augment logistics operations, improve the functionality of websites, and enhance the customer experience for those shopping online. Given the growing importance of the data economy for Europe, the European legislator is looking into a multitude of issues in this space: from data liability and data porting to access to and transfer of non-personal machine-generated data.
